Hippo explores the coming of age of two brothers: Hippo, a teenager addicted to video games, and Buttercup, a Hungarian Catholic immigrant who loves classical music and Jesus. Like the ancient Greek Aphrodite, Buttercup’s love is not met by a brother who prefers to enjoy the art of war and mayhem. The result is a tragicomic, hormone-fueled waking nightmare that has to be seen to be believed.
